Central Indiana Environmental Education Program (CIEEP)

The Central Indiana Environmental Education Program (CIEEP) is designed to teach individuals, households and communities cost-effective ways to lower their energy bills by using energy more efficiently and reducing their overall energy consumption.

Simple changes in our daily routines not only save us money on our gas and utility bills – they also improve the health of individuals, communities, and our environment by reducing toxins in our air and greenhouse gas emissions responsible for global warming.

How to Become Involved

Attend the Living Lean and Green Presentation

This presentation will introduce you and your household to the impact of global warming on our community, and to a set of simple tools that reduce your energy consumption, more fully explored in our Low Carbon Diet Workshops. While becoming more energy efficient to help solve the problem of global warming, you will also save money on your gas and electric bills. At these presentations you can also sign up for the Low Carbon Diet Workshops.

Participate in our Low Carbon Diet Workshops

Offered throughout the year, in different locations on various dates and times, these five-session workshops will pick up where the Living Lean & Green presentations leave off. Each session builds on the previous one and provides a fun and supportive environment in which we discuss and apply home improvement strategies to save energy and money while helping you to reduce your "carbon dioxide footprint" by at least 5000 pounds!
